El Dorado of Spain and Portugal comes alive to my mind whenever I hear the word ‘trip’. The latter really does trigger distant memories I had had with kind-hearted teachers and students since the very first day.
We got to Albergue Inturjoven in Huelva , a city we loved very much. And our stay was excellent in every regard: great location, helpful staff, nice room, good WiFi. … Then we got on our rental coach and set off straight to Charming Lisboa. We spent a couple of great days there- I say great because the city is marvelously built and consists of a series of landscapes and attractions ( Cathedral, park, Historic Belem). Also, ancient Sintra and relaxing Cascais- But I was particularly taken by the ocean scene from my window, God! An overall impression is still left by that natural beauty ; How I wish I was there with the same group Off the next day, heading to Seville « No hay una maravillosa en este mundo como Sevilla »
On the bus, despite the very long high-way, there was never an ill feeling. It was always harmonious and hilarious: jokes, songs, games etc. We got to Seville in the afternoon and we immediately went to Albergue Inurjovenwhich which was a real comfort: a central with nice rooms and balconies and DELICIOUS FOOD. That’s why I highly recommend it for any future visitors.
Now , I can’t remember neither the itinerary nor the schedule but I do remember we’ve been to good places like Calle Tetuan, La Giralda, La carboneria de Flamenco show, Aguadelquivir , la Isla Magica … etc. Honestly, I’m forgetful but I’ll never ever forget the great company of both teachers and students because we were truly ELI’s big family in every place we have been to.
To sum it up, our trip was memorable because the Iberian Peninsula was a terrific choice and a place we will definitely go back to one day. Friendly people, delicious food, great culture and exquisite architecture.
